Aroeira Lisbon Hotel ****

A shorter test than its sibling Ribagolfe Lakes but still measuring more than 6,800 yards, Ribagolfe Oaks (old Ribagolfe II) was designed by former Ryder Cup player Michael King in colaboration with European Tour Design.
Blessed with the same indigenous cork oak canvas, King has crafted a more forgiving but equally appealing golf course with wider fairways and landing areas. The huge, moderately contoured greens, however, provide a stiff test if you’re to score well here.
Both Ribagolfe courses are set within a forest of cork oak trees and the design makes full use of the sweeping undulations of the site, providing many spectacular golf holes across valleys and lakes. You can be sure that you will be surrounding by nothing but nature around you.

Once described as the ‘Valderrama of Portugal’, Ribagolfe Lakes (old Ribagolfe I) provides a superb test of golf in a unique and natural setting 40 minutes from Lisbon.
Designers Peter Townsend and European Golf Design were blessed with a beautiful piece of virgin cork oak forest and have created a layout which would grace any European Tour event, with superb oversized greens and a length of 7,370 yards from the back tees.
Narrow landing areas also play with the mind for long and straight hitters. 
Ribagolfe Lakes has hosted the first stage of the European Tour Qualifying School since 2009.

Only 25 km from Lisbon, Located in a protected pine woodland and close to the coastal town of Caparica, Aroeira is a unique estate comprising of two golf courses and a host of impressive mansions.
Designed by Frank Pennink and opened in 1973, Aroeira Pine Classic (old Aoreira I) was affectionately christened the ‘Wentworth of Lisbon’ by the UK press and it is easy to see why.
Played through tall avenues of pine forest and surrounded by wildlife and nature, the golf course plays to 6,650 yards and demands accuracy and placement off the tee in order to maximise opportunities to hit the target greens in regulation.
The course was the venue for the Portuguese Open in 1996 and 1997 and, in addition to staging several Ladies’ European Tour events, played host to the prestigious European Men’s Club Trophy in 2013.
Aroeira’s mild climate allows playing golf along all year.  Apart from the quality of two 18 holes championship golf courses, Aroeira offers self catering apartments for rent, a tropical swimming pool, tennis courts and a shopping area with restaurant, supermarket among other shops. Aroeira is in the top 100 courses of the continental of Europe raking by Golf Worl magazine.

Opened in 2000, designed by Donald Steel and built to exacting European Tour recommendations, Aroeira Challenge (old Aroeira II) compliments its older sister well.
Visitors will enjoy the distinct tranquil and serene Aroeira environment but will discover a course that possesses a few more thrills and spills along the way.
At more than 7,000 yards from the back tees, Aroeira Challenge bares its teeth with water in play on no fewer than nine holes and large, undulating greens testing the putter to the maximum.
It has hosted the Ladies European Tour Qualifying School and several ladies Portuguese Opens.
